- The movie Nausicaa is based on a series of manga drawn by Hayao Miyazaki
- The movie actually only covers about 1/4 of the entire manga series
- The character Nausicaa was created by Miyazaki by combining a traditional Japanese folktale heronine (in the story The Princess Who Loved Insects) and a princess named Nausicaa in Homer's Odyssey
- The voice of Nausicaa in the Cantonese dub is done by '80s pop singer Priscilla Chan
- The English dub version, also known as "Warriors of the Wind" is not very popular among Nausicaa fans; aside from deleting many scenes, the coverart featured a character that does not appear anywhere in the film....
- Studio Ghibli was formed after the completion of Nausicaa
- Teto also appears in Laputa, Castle in the Sky
- Despite the fact that Nausicaa was made a year before Laputa, in Hong Kong, Laputa was shown in theatres first
- Figure skater Lu Chen of China won a bronze medal in the 1994 Olympics skating to the Nausicaa soundtrack for her long program. You can download a video of her program here
